[Cs-club] UWOSH CS Club - Official mailing for MechMania at Reflections|Projections

TO:  Computer Science Club members

Remember talking about the Reflections|Projections conference at this weeks meeting (scheduled to take place Friday, October 18th to Sunday, October 20th 2002)?  Remember the MechMania programming competition I mentioned was part of the conference?  You can find more details regarding this competition in the e-mail attached to this message (see below) sent by Matt Cheney, son of our nations VP... I mean... the student responsible for organizing Reflections|Projections and MechMania.  IE, this is the official notice.  If you're interested in Mech Mania, I recommend you read it.  Thanks!

PS:  Some CS Club members who took place in MechMania last year may have already recieved this message from Matt Cheney.

Thanks!

Hello from Mechmania!

After MechMania VII where the global trade economy collapsed due to monopolistic influence, a new spirit was born. MechMania VIII, by far the coolest MechMania C++ coding competition yet, is back for another year of artificial intelligence programming madness! You, and two of your coding peers, are invited to compete. For more information visit MechMania's website at http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/mechmania.

MechMania is an intense C++ programming contest held annually for the last eight years at the University of Illinois. Students with previous C++ coding experience will form teams of three warriors to compete in a artificial intelligence C++ coding contest for cool prizes and eternal bragging rights. The goal is simple: devise a strategy to guide your "mechs" through a pre-designed scenario and annihilate your opponent before it destroys you. On the final day of the conference, the teams' programs will be pitted against each other in real-time showcase to determine the ultimate victor.

MechMania is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 18th, 2002 and will end midday Sunday, October 20th, 2002. MechMania is a part of the National Student ACM Reflections | Projections Conference. For information on conference see the previous email or visit our website at http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/conference.

The cost of MechManis is $10 per person. This includes extensive food and drinks throughout the coding process, prizes for the victors, seven quality conference meals, a rocking t-shirt, and admission into all conference events. You do not have to be an ACM member to compete. You just need the rage in your heart to slay your enemies and stand atop their desolate bodies.

Interested in fame, glory, and 17 hours of code, pizza and snacks?
