TO: Computer Science Club Members
It's getting close to the time of year... the end of the semester, when you have a whole year's worth of coding frustration built up. What better way is there to vent that frustration than burning your code over an open flame?
What is Code Burning? Code Burning is a cathartic event in which we take some of the best and worst code we've written in the year--from the most elegant algorithms to the most infuriating typo-induced bugs--and roast it over an open flame. Burn all your woes away! This is also an opportunity to hang out with other computer science students & ethusiasts and with the faculty of the computer science department. In addition to the flames we usually have a pot-luck meal, videogames, and frisbee/volleyball. Fun for everyone!
Code Burning is coming up soon! The official Code Burning date is April 26th (a Saturday, the last Saturday of April.) The event will take place at the home of Dr. Thomas Naps from approximately noon to approximately 5:00 or 6:00. (Specific times will be sent later.)
Regarding the pot-luck aspect of the event... Usually students bring snacky items such as chips, crackers, cookies, pre-packaged fruit, etc and soda items. Please donate some item for the pot-luck if you come!
Thank you very much!
