[Cs-club] The SACC is dead. Long live the SACC!

Club,

For those of you that were unable to attend
tonight, trivia did not happen. Instead, we worked on
the SACC and a conclusion was reached. There is simply
too much dead/non-working hardware there to build a
working cluster. Neither Tony nor I really wanted to
give up but the simple fact is that we'd only have 2-3
working boxes at most and likely less than that.
However, the SACC does live. We tore apart several
of the boxes and accumulated enough working parts to
complete one full box. As a result, the SACC lives as
a Pentium II 233Mhz 192Mb 6Gb computer. It has Debian
installed.
Many of you might ask "what's the point"? The
reason why it will stay is because: 1. It's nice to
have an official computer for the club. 2. Since it's
our box, if you want some software installed or want
to build something yourself, it's more likely to
happen than in the Linux Lab. 3. Why not?
If you'd like a user, please inform me and I will
get you set up. If you'd like to reclaim some of your
old parts, please pick them up from the cubicle within
the next week or so. After that time, I (and perhaps
Tony) will haul away the remaining boxes and recycle
them at the prison.
Sorry it took so long all. I'll send out the IP
address for SSH'ing as well as some general rules next
time I'm in front of it.

Daniel
