After consultation with the Student Technology Fee Committee, I am notifying you that the following proposal will be funded from the 2007-2008 Student Technology Fee:
"Wireless internet in Halsey Science Center": Full funding of $8,000. This allocation is provided to purchase the items described in your proposal (listed below). If, after all items have been purchase, there are unspent funds, they will revert back to the Student Technology Fee account. All purchases and installation will be handled by IT staff.
Note the campus is in the middle of its wireless roll out. Last year Student Technology Fee proposal funded wireless access points to cover the Nursing/Education building. We have completed the site map of the building and will begin installation this summer. Our staff have also completed a site map for Halsey, indicating a total cost of approximately $16,000 to cover the whole building. The Student Technology Fee Committee is using your proposal to provide half of that funding, which will be used to cover the south portion of Halsey. Hopefully there will be funding in the next round of proposals to cover the other half of Halsey and we'll continue building by building until the entire campus is covered.
Wireless coverage in half of Halsey (the half including the CS offices) - $8,000
