The Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) has the pleasure to offer
25 full scholarships for North-American freshmen students
in order to give them the opportunity to attend the 6th International
Summer University at Freie University Berlin (FUBiS 2003), which will take
place from July 19 through August 15, 2003.
The Freie Universität International Summer University is an intensive four
week program offering twenty fully-credited courses covering topics on
Berlin, Germany, and Europe.
The disciplines represented in the course offerings are drawn from the
fields of Contemporary History, Political Science, German Studies, Film
Studies, Urban Studies, Modern Languages, Art History, Philosophy, and
German as a Foreign Language.

The scholarships are sponsored to 100 percent by funds of the European
Recovery Program, which has the goal to foster the transatlantic relation
between the United States and Germany.
The scholarship covers the following:
100 percent tuition waiver for two FUBiS courses
100 percent waiver on the registration fee
500 EUR travel grant
500 EUR grant for living expenses
Only North-American college students who will have completed their
freshmen year by the beginning of FUBiS are eligible to apply. Applicants
must hold U.S. American or Canadian citizenship. We regret that students
in their sophomore year and higher are not eligible to apply.
