[International] Intensive Spanish in Salamanca, Spain

Dear Student:

You are receiving this message either because you are a member of the INTERNATIONAL listserv or because you indicated an interest in the UW Oshkosh-sponsored study abroad program "Intensive Spanish in Salamanca, Spain."

Individual students can study through this intensive Spanish language program
for anywhere between four weeks and a year.

UW Oshkosh offers a one-month group option in June.

Courses are taught at the Universidad de Salamanca-Cursos Internacionales, which offers Spanish as a Foreign Language courses at all levels. Students can choose to take four or five hours of daily intensive classroom instruction. Students who choose to study during fall or spring semester may have the option of taking courses with Spanish students at Universidad de Salamanca through the Integrated Studies Program, depending on their level of language proficiency. All experiences include a homestay and organized field trips to cities such as Segovia, Toledo, Avila, Sevilla, Lisboa, and/or Barcelona. All participants become official Universidad de Salamanca students, with the same access to all University facilities and services as Spanish students.

During your stay in Salamanca, Cursos Internacionales' teachers will guide you as you get to know the city´s most important monuments, including the Old University, Cathedrals old and new, the Renaissance Palaces, the Church of Saint Stephen, the Main Square, and more! Students are grouped according to language ability on these tours in order to facilitate understanding.

Updated information is now available for this program at
http://www.uwosh.edu/oie/LSPAI.html

Program fees are currently estimated at $1,570 - $1,810 plus airfare (approximately $950) based on 10-20 participants traveling together as a group in June.  There are no additional tuition costs. The more students who sign up for this trip, the lower the cost per student will be. You can help lower your cost to study abroad by recruiting friends and classmates to join you in this experience!  For information on what these program fees cover and for an estimate of other expenses associated with the trip (e.g. passport fees, meal costs, etc.), see

For this program, applications will be accepted first-come, first-served either until the program is full or until the application deadline, whichever occurs first (students from universities other than UW Oshkosh and community members will be assigned any available seats just after the application deadline).  Although this is now a spring interim program, the application deadline will be February 24, 2006.  For more information on the application process, please visit
http://www.uwosh.edu/oie/faqs.html.

For more information, and for answers to questions, please join us for an information meeting specifically related to this program on Thursday, February 2 from 3:00-4:00pm in Dempsey 302.
