[International] Wangari Maathai web cast





Dear All,
Here's a notice about the upcoming web cast. Please encourage as many people as possible to attend, including from classes, area schools, and the wider community.

Cost: Free

All are welcome to attend a live web cast of 2004 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Earth Charter Commissioner, and biologist Wangari Maathai, speaking on the topic "Grassroots Environmental Activism." Dr. Maathai is from Kenya, where she founded the Green Belt Movement, resisted government oppression and corruption, and served in a new parliament. As the Nobel committee noted: "Maathai combines science, social commitment and active politics."

This event is organized by Earth Charter Communities (Tampa) and the Dr. Kiran C. Patel Center for Global Solutions, University of South Florida.
