PURPOSE & FUNCTIONS SECTION
Purpose Statement
This position serves as the first point of contact by phone, e-mail, and in- person for diverse populations that include UT students, visiting international students, and faculty members.  In addition to reception and administrative functions, the position oversees student workers and provides students with general study abroad advising.  

Essential Functions
Job Function
Provide support to Study Abroad Office through training, assisting, and supervising student workers in scheduling appointments, answering inquiries regarding application requirments via phone, front desk,and email. 
Function percent time 60.00 

Job Function
Assist office staff with projects, events, and maintaining inventory of promotional materials and supplies.
Function percent time 20.00 

Job Function
Keep current with study abroad programs and other international policies and regulations. 
Function percent time 10.00 

Job Function
Serve as a liaison between the front desk and other sections of the office Function percent time 10.00 

Total percent time 100.00 

QUALIFICATIONS SECTION
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. One year of administrative experience. Experience living, studying, or working abroad. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.  Serve as a reliable team member. Demonstrated interest in international education. 
Professional demeanor. 

Preferred Qualifications
One year of international experience in higher education or advising students. 
Bilingual. Proficient in Macintosh computer as well as all Microsoft Office products. 

Marginal/Incidental functions: Other related functions as assigned.

Working conditions: Exposure to standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Climbing of stairs.
