[International] Ten month Program Coordinator position at Ohio University (INTLJOB)

Ohio University is hiring a full time 10-month Study Abroad Program Coordinator within the Office of Education Abroad. We seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
The program coordinator is an integral part of efforts to increase education abroad participation and ensure the continued high quality of Ohio University's study abroad programs. The Office of Education Abroad is a growing office administering more than 70 education abroad programs.
According to our 2006-07 institutional report of OHIO students studying abroad and all participants on OHIO programs, Ohio University sent 1000 students abroad.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management: Manage assigned faculty-led study abroad programs, including oversight of budget and administration. Administer selected student exchange programs. Assist with faculty director training.
Student Advising: Advise students on education abroad opportunities.
Marketing and Outreach: Promote the benefit of education abroad and Ohio University's program offerings across campus through presentations, events sponsored by other university offices, and fairs.
Event Planning: Assist with planning of major outreach events, including the annual study abroad fair and international photo contest.
Predeparture orientations: Assist with and conduct university-wide predeparture, cross-cultural, and program-specific orientations.
Other Duties: Assist with updates to Education Abroad website content.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors required. Minimum of six months experience abroad (studying, working, volunteering, or interning). Demonstrated work experience within the field of international education, ideally for at least one year.
Demonstrated successful experience supervising others. Competency in at least one foreign language. Demonstrable writing and editing skills. Highly developed computer skills, including ability to update and manage websites.
Public speaking skills. Intercultural competence and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MA preferred. Experience working in a multicultural and/or international environment highly desirable. Preference given to work within the field of education abroad. Event planning experience is a plus.
SALARY
Commensurate for a 10-month full time Presidential contract. Full medical and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development.
