[International] Job Announcement (INTLJOB)

Student Affairs Specialist (Program Coordinator)
Reporting to the Director of International Student Services (ISS), this individual is responsible for developing, planning, publicity, and implementation of a variety of social, educational, and cultural programs for international students, including New Student Orientation, Homecoming, the Annual International Education Week Celebration, International Film Series, Weekly Coffee Hour Social, the International Spring Festival, Receptions, Sport events, Field trips, and many other activities, in conjunction with other University offices and/or student organizations. Serve as ex-officio member on the Global Connections Board. Recruit and train volunteers to assist with many of these programs. Work with ISS databases and maintain updated distribution lists of students, faculty, and members of community. Work closely with IT staff to update ISS Website related to orientation, newsletters, international events calendar, and programming. Serve as primary advisor to the International Student Council and liaison to approximately 45 international student organizations and respond to various requests from faculty, the media and community organizations to utilize international students as a resource. Prepare on-line and printed ISS newsletters and communicate with students on a regular basis. Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus three months of work-related experience. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access are required with Desktop Publishing experience preferred. Effective experience with people of other cultures highly desirable. Requires excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment.
Will require some weekend, holiday, and evening work.
