[International] Job Announcement--USG European Council Coordinator (INTLJOB)

TITLE/DEPARTMENT: University System of Georgia (USG) European Council Coordinator.
DESCRIPTION: Based at Valdosta State University (VSU), the Coordinator for the USG European Council and ISEP Georgia consortium reports to the Chair of the European Council in consultation with the Treasurer of the European Council and the director of the USG Office of International Education. Primary responsibilities include performing administrative and support functions for the collaborative study abroad programs and overseas faculty seminars of the European Council and the Georgia consortium of ISEP. The Coordinator manages accounts, budgets, and students records; creates and maintains databases of students and faculty enrollments; prepares publications; maintains the website; handles correspondence; coordinates statewide meetings, pre-departure orientations and workshops for study abroad faculty and students; answers inquiries about programs; coordinates recruiting activities aimed at attracting participants to programs; acts as a liaison with travel agents, programs directors, program applicants, and USG and VSU personnel; and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree; ability to manage diverse activities within limited time constraints; clerical and office skills and familiarity with databases are required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students, service providers and university staff are essential. The position requires regular travel to other USG institutions in the state of Georgia.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's in a relevant field preferred; prior personal or professional study abroad experience; familiarity with ISEP; previous experience in marketing, advertising or public speaking is also desirable. Availability for some international travel is desirable.
STARTING SALARY: $28,000 to $31,000 with full benefits.

The European Council, based at the Center for International Programs at Valdosta State University, currently sponsors six summer study abroad programs, an exchange program at the University of Northumbria, England, and a bi-annual faculty development seminar. The European Council also supports the Georgia consortium in the ISEP. Through ISEP USG students have access to more than 100 overseas partner universities in more than 30 countries.
