[International] India program clarification (N INDI)

Dear Potential Nursing & Healthcare in India Applicants:

We've had some questions about the revised application deadline for the Nursing & Healthcare in India program, so I thought I would let you know the answers we're giving so all of the information remains consistent.  Please feel free to share this with any of your friends who may still be interested in applying.

Application Deadline - While the application deadline has been moved up for this group, it is not set in stone.   The revised deadline is the deadline by which we have to receive your application if you want to be guaranteed a flight with the group and at the price advertised.  We will certainly accept applications after this week, but cannot guarantee that we will be able to get you on the same flight as the group or at the same price.

"Complete" Application - In order to guarantee an airline ticket, you must fill out the required portions of the online application, sign & turn in all of the forms in the Application Packet and pay the $100 application fee (paid to the Cashier's Office, then they bring us the receipt) today.  All of the information for applying is at http://www.uwosh.edu/oie/abroad/india.php#apply

Passports - Filling in the passport information on the online application is something that will need to be done eventually, but is not required for the initial application submission.  Any questions that do not have the small red square by them are not required for this initial step, so they can skip those portions for now and submit their application, then go back and add the information later.  Proof of a passport, or that a you have applied for a passport (receipt showing they paid to have it sent) is due to our office one week after the original application deadline, so the second Friday in October (10th).  This is also when the additional medical information, Visa application, photos and copy of your driver's license are due.

Clinic Visits - I have heard that some people are under the impression that the Clinicals group will get to do all of the hospital/clinic visits, and the second group is more tourism.  Please reassure anyone you speak with that the second portion will also be attending the conference in Chennai, and traveling to the Himalayan College of Nursing, so there are some very beneficial visits in that portion too.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop in our office, call or email anytime.

Thanks,
Karli
