Deadline Extended for 2004-2005 Foster Fellows Visiting Scholars Program

The 2004-2005 Foster Fellows Visiting Scholars Program deadline has been extended to May 23, 2003, to ensure that all interested applicants have sufficient time to apply.

This federal program allows college and university faculty to spend a year conducting scholarly investigations for the U.S. Department of State that actively support negotiation and  implementation of arms control, nonproliferation, and disarmament treaties, agreements and policies.  Scholars in the fields of political science, biology, engineering, history, military operations analysis, and physical science are invited to apply for any of seven positions available for the 2004-2005 academic years. All positions are located in one of the four following bureaus: Arms Control, Nonproliferation, Political-Military Affairs, and Verification and Compliance.

Foster Fellows must be citizens of the United States and on the faculty of an accredited institution of higher learning.

Further information on this program is available on the Foster Fellows link on the upper Right-hand side of the Department of State website at http://www.state.gov/t/ or by contacting Annette Day at (202) 647-4153 or by email at dayam@t.state.gov.
