[Intl] Scholar Access Grant from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Global Studies program

Dear INTL Listserv Members:

It is with great pleasure that I invite you and your faculty colleagues to apply for a Scholar Access Grant from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Global Studies program. The grant is awarded to postsecondary faculty members wishing to incorporate international and global content into their courses.

Three awards will be granted to faculty currently teaching at any two-year, four-year, or technical college in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa or Minnesota. Awardees will visit the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a period of up to 7 days between May 15, 2005 and August 10, 2005 to consult with international and global studies specialists at UW-Madison, and to use the University's international and global studies library collections. The grant covers transportation to Madison, lodging, per diem and miscellaneous research expenses (e.g., photocopying) up to a total of $750. Applications to study themes closely related to those of Global Studies (globalization, global citizenship, environment, religion, and human rights) will receive priority consideration.

I enclose a flyer that you may post or share with faculty members at your institution. Please feel free to forward this message to collegues who might be interested. The information is also available on our website on the ?Awards and Grants? page: http://global.wisc.edu/awards/Awards_n_Grants.htm.

These awards are funded by a Title VI grant that Global Studies received from the US Department of Education which designated us a National Resource Center for International Studies. We look forward to receiving Scholar Access Grant applications from faculty at your college or university and to working on other international outreach projects with you and other educators throughout the region.

Thank you for taking the time to announce this competition to others at your institution.

Sincerely,

Michael Curtin
Director
