DPI LOOKING FOR APPLICANTS TO THAILAND, LAOS, VIETNAM
Outstanding K-20 educators will travel to Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam this
summer, July 8 - August 12, 2005, with a DPI delegation.
Applications are due almost immediately, Wednesday, April 6, 2005, and are
on the DPI website:

Kindly pass on this notice to interested applicants, who include:
** K-12 educators, including administrators, esp. those who work with SE
Asian-American students
** ESL / ELL / world language teachers
** District - employed para-professionals who speak Hmong, Thai, Lao or
Vietnamese
** University-level educators, especially those who work in teacher
education
** Technical college educators, especially those with in global studies &
ESL fields
The application, funded as a Fulbright Group Study Abroad Project by the US
Department of Education, in collaboration with University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, responds to the growing diversity of Wisconsin's
classrooms and the need for educators to have greater cultural literacy
regarding SE Asian cultures. The Fulbright grant covers round trip airfare
to Bangkok, Thailand, in- and between-country travel, meal and hotel costs;
participants pay only a $500 oreintation fee for the full 5-week unique
experience.
