[Intl] Japan Foundation grants
From the Office of Grants and Faculty
Development
Japan Foundation Center for
Global Partnership Accepting Applications for Intellectual Exchange
Program Grants
Deadline: December 1, 2005
The Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (
http://www.cgp.org/
) is a grantmaking organization founded in 1991 to promote mutual
understanding between the United States and Japan on contemporary social
issues.
CGP's Intellectual Exchange Program supports U.S.-Japan collaborative
projects from universities and other research institutions that encourage
policy-oriented research and dialogue on global issues of common
concern.
The program seeks projects focusing on contemporary social issues,
including international economic relations, international security,
sustainable development, civil society, and health care and aging.
Particular consideration is given to projects that bring together
scholars, practitioners, and policy makers from the U.S. and Japan, in
addition to their counterparts from other countries. Through these
activities, CGP aims to create new networks and provide opportunities for
advancing research and candid discussions that lead to a more informed
society.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact CGP staff and submit
concept papers (three to five pages) to determine whether projects fall
within CGP's program guidelines and priorities, prior to the submission
of a formal application.
Visit the CGP Web site for complete program guidelines and application
requirements, as well as examples of recently funded projects.
