[Philclub] Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Philosophy Club begins this semester's PHILOSOPHY
CLUB SERIES ON RELIGION....
Topic: PASCAL'S WAGER
Wednesday, April 2, 4:30pm in Reeve Union 214
Don't miss it!
P.S. For those who may not know, "Pascal's Wager" refers to a famous
argument put forth by the 17th century French philosopher Blaise Pascal. He
argued that religious belief is more rational than non-belief because of its
greater expected value (infinite bliss, perhaps). Thus, the safe and
rational "wager" is always with the side of religious belief -- or so Pascal
argued. Good stuff for intense and passionate discussion!
