As previously planned Wednesday, December 8th, will be a state-wide day of action for Affirmative Action and Plan 2008! The purpose of this day of action is to inform the Board of Regents and UW System Administration that students want to see a proactive approach to ensuring that our admissions policies fully reflect

the spirit of equal opportunity that they are intended to have and also to
express our sincere anger and frustration of the lack of accountability and

dedication to Phase II of Plan 2008. On Wednesday, December 8st students from

throughout UW System will be emailing or faxing Regent Olivieri who heads the

Board of Regents Education committee and Senior Vice President for the Office of

Academic Affairs, Cora Marrett, to inform them that we would like them to
evaluate current policies in order to ensure that they are truly providing
opportunities for equal access to all students.

We are asking that students on all of our campuses take the time on Wednesday to email or fax Regent Olivieri and Senior VP Marrett with regards to this issue. I?ve attached a sample letter and United Council?s Affirmative Action packet in order to provide you with some background information and help for the day of action.
