[Seac] FW: Re: Chicken prices

#1. About the whole New Moon Cafe thing. It looks like it was just a big misunderstanding in the first email Steve sent. He explained it better in his second email. I agree that some, if not most of us, would be willing to invest in food sources that are humane.
After researching area farms through <http://www.savorwisconsin.com/> ,
I found Cattleana Ranch, a CSA near the Oshkosh area.
<http://www.savorwisconsin.com/search/detail.asp?recid=355&from=ltype1>
I'm even interested in some of their packages they offer, such as vegetables. I emailed them to see what kinda meat prices they have, for businesses interested in selling. The email is found below along with attachment that has prices. This is something we could include in our CSA/campus food forum by discussing or having someone come in. I encourage everyone to look into these ideas and show their opinion.

#2 Food committee, I've obtained a free subscription for to Vegetarian Times for our earth week celebration. Lets see if we can get a couple mugs from Sodexho to give away as well.(the ones with discounted refill.)

#3 I look forward to seeing everyone next thrusday!!!!!

peace

HI

I have attached our complete price list - including chickens. We only have
frozen whole chickens @ $2.49/lb. Our products are not certified organic
but are all pasture raised - which most organic birds are not.

To have high quality bird (vs. conventionally grown confinement that
restaurants purchase) takes time and additional costs. Therefore, we are
unable to offer discounts to restaurants.
