Hey everybody— For those of you who didn’t know, I applied for $2500
from the Pepsi Fund to help us pay for the Minnie Bruce Pratt writer in
residence event in March. Even with the funding from all of the organizations I
solicited, we were still short about $500. So, I decided to give this a shot
and to if we could get some help, and Mike Gasper emailed me back today saying
that we have been approved for the full $2500! Now, we actually have extra, since this covers almost half
the entire cost of the event. I’d like to let all of the student
organizations know that we have this extra; some of them could probably keep
what they had pledged to give us, although I think the Women’s Studies
Department and the English Department should definitely still help with this,
since they are both receiving a great benefit from having her guest lecture. Anyway, I am just so excited about this, and I wanted to
share the joy with all of you! For WAC members—we’ll be able to discuss this
more at our unofficial meeting on the 19th at Emily’s, along
