[WAC-list] March for Women's Lives--April 25th

Hello WAC members!

After speaking with Andrea, Co-Director of WAC, I am writing to all of you in regards to The March for Women's Lives.  As a past co-director for WAC (2001-2002), I'm interested in organizing a group to attend the march.

"The March for Women's Lives addresses the assaults on women's rights and lives, both nationally and globally, that restrict women's access to reproductive health services and limit women's ability to have a child or to end a pregnancy." [http://m4cwi.blogspot.com/]

The March is being held in Washington DC on Sunday, April 25, 2004.

"March for Women's Lives is now one of the fastest growing sites on meetup.com. Already over 570 organizations have signed on to co-sponsor the March for Women's Lives, and the list grows daily. The groups represent a wide range of women's, civil rights, labor, lesbian and gay, disability, people of color, campus and religious groups, as well as health clinics and services providers. Unprecedented numbers of people from all walks of life are expected to mobilize in Washington, DC, to have their voices heard." [http://m4cwi.blogspot.com/]

Several websites have more information on the details of the March:

Travel arrangements to the March are available.  Buses are leaving from cities all over the state.  Planned Parenthood of WI has organized buses to leave from Madison & Milwaukee, with a fee of $125 per person.  The link below will take you to a registration form for more details:

Several other campus organizations are also forming travel groups, specifically FMLA affiliates from Green Bay and Milwaukee.  Depending on the interest of WAC members, I would be willing to contact these organizations to co-organize travel arrangements, or to find out more details on how they are planning their trip.

If you would like more information on the March, are interested in attending, or have other questions or concerns, please email me at erikastueber@hotmail.com or contact Andrea.  Accomodations to the March will need to be arranged soon, so please email ASAP!

Thank you for your support!
