OSA Report given by Andrea:
Something very confusing about taking more credits than are necessary to
graduate, and how they will cost more.
Also, parking plan in motion, and hoping to make campus more bike friendly.
Julie has class, so she can't make it to our scheduled meeting times, but she
will continue to uphold her responsibilities and be in contact with the whole
group through Andrea.
Next week Thursday, Feb. 12th we have scheduled a table in Reeve from
11am-3pm.
This will hopefully attract people to our new member recruitment meeting at
3pm. Also, this is the day to wear your shirts, so don't forget!
Liz, Helen, and Julie are working in conjunction with MEC to come out with a
calendar of events for Women's History Month. They have several exciting
events planned, including the visit from Minnie Bruce Pratt. So, be sure to
keep your eyes open for one, with a complete listing of events. Some of them
include: a Native American Women's Drumming Group on the 2nd, a speaker about
Helen Keller on the 3rd, Minnie Bruce Pratt 9 & 10, Danay Davis the 22nd or
23rd, Jesse Jack Hooper the 24th, Kate Thome the 24th, Open Mic of Women's
Poetry the 30th, and Sex in the Dark the 31st. So, be sure to check some of
these events out!
It was decided to give $100 to the Women's Center to help pay for the Native
American Women's Drumming Group.
It was decided to give a cap of $200 to the Vagina Monologues, to cover
advertising costs.
If you are interested in volunteering to help, contact Jenni Schreiner at
jlschreiner@yahoo.com. The dates are Feb.. 26, 27, and 28. Jenni is allowing
us to wear our WAC shirts and/or plug WAC on the mike before the show starts.
So, clearly she is really cool, and we should all volunteer. :)
To reiterate: Meeting times are a little shifted this semester. 2:30-3 will be
for socializing. The official meeting will start promptly at 3, and last no
more than one hour, because no one wants to sit around for that long, much
less have time to do so.
Again, next week, the 12th is our recruitment meeting. We will be having pizza
to lure people into coming, and we will also give out candy when they answer
questions on Women's Trivia.
Looking farther into the future: The meeting on the 19th we will figure out
what we're going to put in the case by Titan Central. We have space in it for
March. So, start thinking creatively!
