[WAC-list] OSA Report
Hey, WAC-ers, I've got good news this week from the OSA meeting!
Brian Rucks, Speaker of the Assembly, has announced his candidacy for President of the OSA next year, and his running mate is....tada! Angie Daus!
Although I will not be here next year, I am so happy for you (if he wins), you future WAC OSA representative you (whomever you are), because Brian is one of the few on the OSA head-table-high-court (as I like to call them) who address the assembly as what we are, adults. And, also, a woman would be the VP, a step in the right direction.
As far as other runners are concerned, no one has taken up papers for the Senate race, and anyone can still run for Pres, etc. If you are interested, the papers are currently available at the OSA website.
In announcements...
tell you what I'm gonna do. When I get the OSA meeting minutes in my email, I will forward them to you all, so that you can read, word for word, what is going on, according to the official minute taker. I do this because of the lengthy and tedious nature of items such as Presidential Recommendations and Appointments, and sponsored resolutions which, while possibly important, are chock full of WHEREASes and BE IT RESOLVEDs, THEREFORE and FINALLY, that I think you really should read the official language yourselves so as not to miss anything.
By the way, if you do ever read a resolution and wish me to vote against it, please let me know, or bring it up for discussion at Thursday's meeting.
By the way again, if any of you are mentioned in the Presidential appointments, let us know! And we'll celebrate at the next meeting.
Sincerely, your WAC-y OSA Rep
Julie Stockwell
