[WAC-list] Roseanne Hoefel Run Walk Roll for Diversity April 24

Hey Everybody-

I am forwarding you all a message about the Roseanne Hoefel 5k Run Walk
Roll for Diversity on Saturday, April 24th. Please consider
participating in the event, or, if you're not into the run/walk/roll
part (as I am not particularly), please think about helping by
volunteering to wo/man an intersection and wave the participants in the
right direction. I know this job sounds pretty dorky, but I am going to
be doing it, and so is Deb, so that already makes it much cooler. Also,
two things that I think are really awesome about this event are that the
"diversity" does not exclude sexuality, as it often does in many other
"diversity" events, and that half of the money raised will go toward
starting an annual Social Justice Fair. So please consider those things
also.

For those of you that are in various groups, would you please pass on
this information to the groups as well?

Thanks,
Andrea Shay

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

On Saturday, April 24th, the second annual Roseanne Hoefel Run for
Diversity will be held. The race will start at 9:00 am with check-in
beginning at 7:30 am. The race is a run, walk, roll (wheelchairs and
baby strollers only please in the roll category). Registration will be
$15.00 for individuals and $7.50 for students. The first 75 runners to
register will receive a free t-shirt!! A registration form appears
below. Please send the below registration form through campus mail to
Jane Kramer, English Department or through the US mail to Jane Kramer,
UW Oshkosh, Department of English, Radford 216, 800 Algoma Blvd.,
Oshkosh, WI 54901. So, start rolling, walking, or running now because
the top male and female finishers in each of the three categories will
receive a trophy and a cash prize.

As most of you know, this run is named after COLS associate dean
Roseanne Hoefel who was instrumental in implementing programs focused on
diversity at UWO. In order both to honor Roseanne Hoefel's memory and
create opportunities to continue her work in the area of diversity, a
group of us at UWO have come together to put on this event. Of the
funds generated from the run, one half will be donated to the Roseanne
Hoefel Multicultural Education Fund and the other half will be used to
create an annual Social Justice Fair.

If you would like personally to support the run, you can become a bronze
sponsor by donating $1.00-24.99, a silver sponsor by donating
$25.00-124.99, and a gold sponsor by donating $125.00 or above. Checks
can be made payable to the Roseanne Hoefel Run for Diversity as we have
opened a checking account in that name.

If you would like to help either by contributing money toward the event
or by volunteering your time to help us organize, please contact Jordan
Landry at landry@uwosh.edu or at X 0918.

Thanks in advance for whatever help that you can give.

See you on April 24th!
