Apparently the system doesn't allow attachments to be sent through the list serves. I will briefly explain our objective. John Burke is a minimum security prison for women. Human Services runs a class at the prison teaching the women to take control of their lives and make positive changes. The first time the class was offered there was room for 12 participants however over 70 women signed up. There is an overwhelming need to help these women gain a sense of self so that when they are released they have a fresh start. Julia and I are raising money for textbooks for the course as well as a day to bring these women to campus to show them they CAN make it in college.
Julia and I have designated the first full week of April Weekathon. Each day there are 2 events at noon in Reeve or on the mall such as a Hopathon and an Unscramble-athon. We are asking participants to get sponsors in order to raise money. If you would like more information please email me back!
