[WAC-list] Should Tony Run?

Green Folks,
On the TonyPalmeri.com website (http://www.tonypalmeri.com) I asked readers to comment on whether I should run for office this year.  Got this nice response from former student Mark Habeck.  Significantly, he's in the Republican National Party.  So much for Greens getting all their votes from Democrats! (:-).  Peace, Tony

Should Tony Run?

The short answer is, absolutely.

Being a card carrying member of the Republican National Party, I can say that Tony would have my full support and most importantly my vote.

Why, you might ask? Most importantly, I was one of the many former students of Dr. Palmeri and know firsthand his dedication to critical thinking, not political deal-making. Wisconsin needs citizens to rise up and challenge the incumbent view of ?me-first? political survival. We must return to a ?Wisconsin-first? mentality. I believe that Dr. Palmeri would cast politics aside and do what he believes is in the best interests of the citizens instead of the best interests of the party. I may not agree with his vote, but I agree with his following your own critical analysis and not being a ?yes man.?

Secondly, I believe that Dr. Palmeri is a man of character and integrity. He is honest, straight forward, and can articulate his viewpoint. With him, you get what you see.

Next, Dr. Palmeri can look at the totality of the issue and ask relevant questions to make an informed decision. He has his views, as we all do, but I believe he is willing and able to not jump to a conclusion without listening to multiple ideas.

I enjoy listening to Rush, watching O?Reilly, and shopping at Wal-Mart. But I trust Tony, and will vote for him because he will work towards being a part of the solution to the politics of usual in Madison.
