WAC meeting minutes from 02/17

Next Meeting: Thursday, Feb. 24 @ 2pm in the Women's Center

Attendance: Liz, Andrea, Angela, and Erika

Open positions of Secretary, Treasurer, OSA rep?Our website lists these opportunities, or you can also contact Erika Stueber (erikastueber@hotmail.com, cell: 920-382-2448). For all of these positions you need to be available to attend our meetings, Thursdays at 2pm.

 

Volunteer Opportunities:

Dress Up as Your Favorite Feminist--Tues 3/1 from 11am-2pm in Reeve Concourse. People needed to dress up as their fav. feminist & hand out calendars of upcoming Women's History Month events. (contact Erika @ erikastueber@hotmail.com) Going to be lots of fun!!!

Vagina Monologues--Fri 3/4 & Sat 3/5. People needed to do tabling for WAC (contact Erika @ erikastueber@hotmail.com). People also needed for ushering, taking tickets, hanging posters (prior to event), handing out buttons, etc. (contact Erika @ erikastueber@hotmail.com or Anna @ 920-285-8999).

Quinceanera--Wed 3/23 in Reeve Ballroom. Decorators and hair stylists needed! (Contact Juanita @ quinceanera05@yahoo.com. )

 

 

Old Business:

 

Stitch ?n Bitch?Knitting for EVERYONE! Group meets Wednesdays from 4:15-5:15pm in the Women's Center. All levels welcome; bring your own goods. 

 

New Business:

 

Vagina Monologues?Taking place Fri 3/4 & Sat 3/5 in Foundations Bldg. WAC will be co-sponsoring this event and all proceeds will be donated to the Women?s Center! J

 Volunteers are needed (see above). Time & more details to come soon!

 

 Upcoming Events:

 

March is Women's History Month!!! Lots of events planned! Calendars for all March events will be handed out in Reeve Concourse on Tues, March 1st from 11am-2pm. Look for all the people dressed up as their favorite feminists! (Calendars will also be available in the Women's Center, or WAC's cubicle in the SLIC.)

 

Quinceanera?Wed, 3/23 in Reeve Ballroom. Dinner @ 5:30pm, Program @ 6:15pm, Dance 7:30-11pm. Semi-formal attire. RSVP for reservations: quinceanera05@yahoo.com, or call Irma Burgos x3081. Volunteers needed (see above). This event is being planned by the HCU and co-sponsored by WAC.

 

Earth Week?April 18 ? 22. We're discussing possible collaborations w/Campus Greens & SEAC. Suggestions were having a film in the WC with a possible talkback. (Film: Rachel?s Daughters; Talkback: Jordan Landry?) More details expected after this week's meeting.
