Sears is best known for being the original catalog producer and it's time to tell this dinosaur of destruction to stay out of our endangered and old growth forests! Please join us at our regional summit in Chicago, IL and learn how you can help stop the destructive side of Sears. You'll hear more about our new campaign, while gaining useful skills through workshops, including a briefing on Endangered Forests and the paper campaign, coalition building, and direct action training. Who: You What: Midwest Regional Summit When: November 2, 3, and 4, 2007 Where: Chicago, IL Fee: Registration is free, but space is limited, so sign up now! Sears Holding Corporation produces around 425 million catalogs every year with their Lands' End and Sears brand catalogs. Their catalogs contain very little recycled content and are made from trees that come from the Boreal Forest! Please join us for our regional summit in Chicago, IL. You'll meet great people and gain some amazing skills. Together, we can stop Sears from destroying our Endangered Forests and stop their human rights violations and unethical logging in indigenous lands. Registration is free, and housing accommodations and food will be provided by ForestEthics and our allies. Space is limited, so register now by sending an email to linda at forestethics.org or call (415) 863-4563, ext. 329. With your help, we can make sure Sears joins the ranks of other environmentally responsible catalog producers. It is time they become a leader in the fight against harmful practices that contribute to global warming! See you in November, Linda Wells Campaign Organizer ForestEthics -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... One of the 3 was obviously an accidental repeat.] Last night, the City of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, formally became the 15th signatory to the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, essentially "ratifying" the Kyoto Protocol (in the words of Al Gore), and pledging to "strive to meet or exceed Kyoto Protocol targets" (US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement http://usmayors.org/climateprotection/documents/mcpAgreement.pdf ). Those 15 cities comprise 1/4 of the population of the State of Wisconsin.
