Introductions 2.? Dr. David Barnhill?- Guest Speaker -? He explained what Fair Trade was and asked for our help in gaining endorsements from other groups in order to help turn University of Wisconsin: Oshkosh into the first Fair Trade University. -? There are several events that SEAC?will be helping to put on including the Fair Trade Festival after Thanksgiving, a Valentines week promotion for Fair Trade chocolates and of course events during Earth Week. 3.? Water Bottle Initiative -? The Oshkosh Community might be willing to donate the bottles to us.? The logo?must be completed before next Thursday so that we can order the bottles. 4.? Recycling Cans -? Hopefully there will be an OSA?resolution soon. Introductions 2.? Water Bottle Initiative -? The Symbols have been designed and the bottles will hopefully be ordered soon. 3.? Next week:? MOVIE NIGHT -? SEAC?will be presenting the movie "Pickaxe" next Thursday, November 8th, in Reeve 305. -? We will be serving free pizza and we encourage everyone to join us.? -? Pickaxe synopsis:? "An eclectic mix of activists take a stand to protect an old growth forest from logging at Warner Creek in the Willamette National Forest of Oregon, blockading the logging road and repelling the State Police.? Over months a community builds around the illegal blockade as it develops into the Cascadia?Free State and similar actions spread across the region."? (94mins) 4.? Fair Trade -? The Thursday after Thanksgiving will be the date of the Fair Trade Festival.? The movie Black Gold, a documentary on fair trade coffee, will hopefully be shown in the evening and followed with a discussion by professors. -? Groups will be approached for Fair Trade endorsements soon. -? In Great Britain, 70 Universities have declared their support for Fair Trade, why haven't we?
