Message-ID: United Council?s 12th Annual Women?s Leadership Conference, Voices Often Unheard: Women?s Political Voices Past, Present & Future, is fast approaching! This year?s conference will be held November 9-11, 2007 at UW- Oshkosh. Registration is free of cost to students of all United Council member campuses and includes speakers, workshops and meals during the conference. This year?s conference will draw over 250 students from around the state to learn about and share ideas regarding women?s and gender-based issues! This year?s conference will feature three speakers: Loretta Ross, Julia Serano & Rep. Gordon Hintz. Loretta Ross is founder & National Coordinator of SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective & Co-Director of the 2004 National March for Women?s Lives. Julia Serano is an Oakland, California-based writer, spoken word performer, trans activist, biologist & author of Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity. Rep. Gordon Hintz is a Freshman Representitive in the Wisconsin State Assembly and an advocate for women?s & students? rights in the legislature.
