[Music Education] Early Child. Field Exp. Panel Session
Dear Wisconsin Music Teacher Educators,
I'd like to offer one more invitation and reminder to attend the WSMTE
meeting and Early Childhood Field Experiences Panel Session, Wed. Oct,
27 at the Wisconsin State Music Conference.
Again, please note the Wednesday schedule below. (Due to an oversight,
the schedule printed in the September "Wisconsin School Musician"
incorrectly listed the panel session to begin at 3 PM.) As Judy Bond
indicated in her previous email, the 4 PM starting time is intended to
make it easier for everyone to attend both the panel session and the

4:00-4:45 PM Early Childhood Field Experiences Panel Session
4:45-5:30 PM WSMTE meeting
5:30-6:00 PM reception with light refreshments
All three events are presently scheduled for Monona Terrace Room K/L.
MORE ABOUT THE PANEL SESSION at 4:00 PM
-->SESSION TITLE--Integrating Early Childhood Music Experiences in the
Elementary Methods Course
-->SESSION DESCRIPTION--In what ways are Wisconsin colleges and
universities providing pre-service music teachers with experiences in
early childhood music? This session will feature brief presentations by
music teacher educators showing how they incorporate early childhood
field work in elementary methods courses and elsewhere in the
curriculum, how skills are developed and assessed, and the potential
for beneficial community partnerships and outreach activities for
students, children, and parents. Informal discussion will follow.
