[Music Education] UWGB Summer Courses

Title: UWGB Summer Courses

Dear Music Educators:

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is offering several professional development opportunities for practicing Wisconsin music educators this summer, 2005. Graduate credit can be gained through a variety of short course offerings focusing on topics relevant to both PK-12 educators and administrators. The course instructor's goal is to offer meaningful and practical experiences that educators can immediately use in the school setting. Please take a moment to review the following courses and feel free to send this information to a colleague, since several of these courses also apply to educators outside of the music field. Each short course centers on a topic (exceptional students, assessment, creativity); and the course project work is tailored to the specific needs of the individual taking the class. Please read the course descriptions below; and call/e-mail me anytime with your questions.

Sincerely,

Mark Kiehn, Ph.D.

PK-12 general, choral, and instrumental music specialists also will be introduced to cutting-edge research in creativity, methods for teaching improvisation/composition, and curriculum design. As in visual art, our music students learn in-depth applications of the musical elements through their own creations!
